Let us understand radical problems that escalate intimate partner abuse
"You knew he is like that!"
Yes, I knew he was like that,
Irresponsible and rude.
I knew he was crude.
But what do I do now?
When my life is screwed.
Do you realize that nobody,
Nobody chooses abuse.
But when did you bother
To hear me calling for help?
Oops, sorry, You were busy,
Enjoying your patriarchal cruise.
I have unhealed trauma,
In forms of invisible bruise.
Do you see them?
No. My trauma is no excuse.
You taught me a toxic
Idea of love.
Me in the bottom,
He above.
"Your love will change him."
"Be the peacemaker."
"Be like a dove."
You know I tried.
I tried all that I learned.
You wanted me to keep trying,
Before I quit and returned.
Yes I knew
He was like like that.
And so did you.
But I get the blames
And my blamer is you.
Blaming me does no good.
Go, reflect and analyze my childhood.
If you really want a change,
Change the idea of "woman" and "manhood."
