Money without power is politics
14.04.2024 | Namrata Mishra
I let my wife keep all the money I earn,
But I ensure that her own money she never earns.
I support her to get her dream job,
But I ensure that she respects mine more.
I let her enjoy her money,
But I ensure I earn more.
As a manager, I don’t discriminate.
I hire her,
But in times of crisis,
I ensure she is the first to be fired.
As a politician,
I include women in large numbers.
They are activists and agents and are paid well,
But I ensure that they don’t make it to many powerful positions;
I don’t want my historical privilege to be threatened.
To the world,
I remain kind, generous, and worthy of affection;
While within me,
I enjoy the manipulation.
