I always wanted a family that would hold me,
I always wanted a family that would hold me,
When I was struggling with a lack of security and serenity,
When I needed a warm blanket filled with kindness that would protect me from the unbearable hard-hearted world hell-bent on hatred,
When it all seemed like the shadows of pain had found their much-needed home in my being,
When the friendly faces fade exposing me to the vulnerable uncertainties I avoid in life,
I was never met with their support but rather cold stares that pierced through me like a thousand little needles,
Losing sight of reality and rationality,
And losing hope for the future with the earlier fury and unbound passion that I had.
But the magic was right around the corner,
Waiting to be unveiled like a gift,
Through people who were my real family,
Loving me at times I thought I would never love myself,
Taking care of the scars that I never thought existed within me,
Making a universe filled with togetherness and optimism,
To sprinkle my heart with sweetness, tenderness, and warmth.
