This poem is for the women who didn’t know when to stop loving : )  

 

Years ago,  

This month marked an end  

Of a relationship, I thought  

Would never end.  

  

Years ago,  

The years began  

Which made me love,  

Fight, learn, 

And yearn;  

Made me affirm –  

“I will; I can.”  

And I did.  

Continued to take a stand 

Not knowing where things will land.  

But with time,  

The suppressed emotions  

Take the upper hand.  

 

Years later,  

I was drained.  

Felt obligated and omitted.  

But thankfully,  

The love for self sustained.  

 

Today,  

Those years end. 

And I let a new beginning  

Be my friend.
