Here’s my homage  

To all my fellow travellers  

Who have dared to live  

Though the dark and light 

Rode the roughest of waves 

Survived the toughest of seasons 

And yet you stand tall. 

Battered and bruised 

Outside and within 

Standing nevertheless 

And plodding on. 

Skin dark rough and wrinkled 

But glowing with beauty and grace 

Of strength resolve and purpose 

Lives filled with narratives  

Of succumbing to the dark 

Yet enriched by wisdom and tales 

That can wake up the dead 

Choices you made to embrace the dark 

As you refused to mask the pain 

My warriors, you have known life 

In all its depth honesty and truth 

You have known the dark and hence 

You have the bearings to know light too 

Hey beautiful precious and mighty 

Know that you’re one of a kind 

And meant to be too.
