Growing up I remember friendship days,
were about glowing beads
and never about being popular on feeds.
They don’t arrive with fireworks
or filtered frames,
these friends who stay
when the applause fades.
They show up with silence
that doesn’t judge
holding your favourite chocolate fudge
They’ve watched me fall
apart like cheap furniture
and still chose to sit
among the broken pieces.
We don’t always talk
about the heavy things.
Sometimes we just send memes at 3 a.m
or share a song that says what words cannot.
Yet in that ordinary magic,
something sacred happens
two tired hearts in their 20’s
reminding each other they are not alone.
Sometimes we laugh until our ribs ache
over the absurdity of being human
in a world that expects us
to have it all figured out.
Friendship like this is not always loud.
It does not trend,
It does not need applause.
It is the friend who remembers
how you take your coffee
on the days you forget how to take care of yourself.
The one who celebrates
your smallest victories
as if they were revolutions.
On this Friendship Day
I celebrate the ones who have
become my chosen family.
The ones who have seen
some dainty chapters
of my story and still signed up
for the next volume.
The ones who make
my chaos feel less chaotic.
The ones who proof that belonging
was never meant to be earned
it was always meant to be felt.
