PAIN: Pay Attention Inward Now
They say PAIN stands for:
"Pay Attention Inward Now."
Our body uses pain to bring our attention to a part that needs care.
The same applies to mental pain — psychological pain and hurt.
What Is Your Pain Trying to Tell You?
It might invite your focus to something important that needs to be addressed.
Ask yourself:
Reflective Questions
-
Is there anything I can still do in this situation?
-
What is the right thing to do?
-
What would I ask my child or best friend to do now if they were in a similar situation?
-
Is there anything I have been aware of but ignored because it is scary?
-
Am I hesitating to take the next step because I'm afraid I'll fail miserably?
-
Am I hiding behind excuses?
