A Tribute To All Our Teachers
Celebrating with The iDare Collective:
"I wrote this because the quiet, everyday care of teachers often goes unseen, and on Teachers’ Day it felt important to name the weight they carry while still showing up for everyone else. If you are a teacher reading this in silence, I want you to know that your presence has mattered more than you may ever fully realise and that you deserve care in return. I am someone who still remembers the teachers who noticed what we couldn’t say out loud. iDare stands with you this Teachers’ Day, offering dedicated support for the ones who have always held space for others."
You never asked to become lighthouses,
yet there you stood
steady against the storms we brought.
You taught us algebra and history,
but the real lessons
lived in the spaces between the words.
You noticed the child
who arrived carrying a home
heavier than their backpack.
You saw the one who laughed the loudest
because the silence at home was too painful to bear.
You never tried to fix us overnight.
You simply made the classroom a sanctuary.
Some days you arrived carrying
your own invisible burdens
a sick parent, an uncertain future,
the weight of a system
that asked you to pour from an empty cup.
Yet you showed up anyway.
You were never just teachers.
You were unseen architects of futures,
builders of confidence, guardians of possibility
in a world that often measured worth in marks and ranks.
On this Teachers’ Day
we honour not merely the knowledge,
but the sacred work of caring.
The patience that refused to run out.
The hope that refused to dim.
The humanity you brought
into rooms designed by system
that often forgot we were human at all.
Thank you for seeing us.
For staying when staying was heavy.
For reminding generations of children
that they were worthy of being truly seen.
This Teachers’ Day, let iDare’s mental health experts support the ones who have always supported others with dedicated care for every teacher’s well-being.
