Dear Tagore
Celebrating with The iDare Collective:
"As a student of Cultural Studies, I turned to Tagore’s work not merely as literature, but as a dimension through which I understand identity, nationhood, and the human spirit. His poetry and vision taught me that culture is never static it is a flowing river of voices, emotions, and quiet revolutions.
In Gitanjali, the National Anthem, and his essays, I see the beautiful tension between tradition and modernity, between rootedness and universality.
His words remind me that true freedom is both collective and personal, the courage to imagine a world beyond boundaries while staying connected to one’s soil. In an age of fragmented identities and cultural noise, his emphasis on humanism, empathy, and inner awakening feels more relevant than ever.
He shaped not just Indian culture, but the way we study and celebrate it, showing young minds like mine how art can heal, resist, and illuminate.
I am appalled when I think about him for being both a cultural giant and a gentle companion on the path of understanding. "
Dear Tagore,
"On this Independence Day, we carry your invisible summer in our hearts.
May we all awaken to our own freedom
not just as a nation, but as individuals full of purpose, courage, and light.
Amid the winter of challenges, I discovered within me
an invisible summer
a quiet, radiant light that enlightens the soul
and breathes life into every shadowed corner.
Words from the past rise again,
growing stronger with every heartbeat.
Words of freedom, courage, and glory.
They carry the weight of struggles and the beauty of odes,
reminding me that poetry is not just art
it is a home we return to when we need strength.
Geetanjali wove a carpet of voices,
a National Anthem that still fills our chests with pride and valour.
A bard whose words continue to guide generations.
They say poets are dreamers,
but their dreams fuel real revolutions.
Their quiet fights keep the flame of freedom alive
not just for a nation, but within every one of us.
As Nehru reminded us:
“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps,
India will awake to life and freedom.”
That tryst with destiny lives on
in my journey, in yours, and in the soul of our nation.
Amid winter, I found within me an invisible summer.
O Dear Tagore, you shaped the soul of our culture,
With verses that bloom like eternal spring,
You painted India not in maps or borders alone,
But in the hues of unity, diversity, and boundless dreaming.
You awakened young minds to question, to feel, to create
Turning restless hearts into lanterns of thought,
Nurturing courage in classrooms and quiet corners,
So, every generation could walk taller in the light of your wisdom.
O visionary poet, your spirit still dances in our songs,
In the rhythms of Rabindra Sangeet that heal and uplift,
In stories that teach compassion,
in art that defies chains.
You taught us that true freedom
is both outer and inner
A nation rising, and a soul unshackled.
Your legacy lives in every curious mind you inspired,
Your words, dear Tagore, wrap around us like a warm blanket,
guiding us through uncertain times.
For words are indeed mightier than swords.
They teach us that true independence begins inside
the freedom to rise above fear,
to choose hope over despair,
and to nurture our inner light even when the world feels cold.
You were an artist, revolutionary, patriot, and above all,
a kind and timeless poet.
